(u-s:b /AP) To mark the 30th anniversary of the Royal Oak, Audemars Piguet is offering women a new interpretation of the legendary timekeeper in its Offshore version. This sophisticated sporting watch combines diamonds and rubber in a subtle blend of daring and refinement. Behind this astonishing styling, it conceals a mechanical calibre suited to extreme sports and to the demands of daily life. The spirit of tradition and excellence of the Manufacture is clearly being perpetuated in an inimitably bold and elegant manner.

A daring match
One year after men, to whom the Manufacture dedicated the Rubber-clad Royal Oak Offshore, women now have their own. Especially with them in mind, Audemars Piguet has treated rubber to some elegant and unexpected colours: sky blue or bright orange for the white gold version, charcoal-grey for the yellow gold version. Three colours lit up by the thirty-two diamonds set on the octagonal bezel.

Exclusive rubber
By adopting rubber just as it adopted steel thirty years ago, the Manufacture is ennobling this
material while achieving a genuine technical feat. On the bezel, rubber must cling perfectly to the octagonal shape, accommodate the precise cut-outs for the push-button and crown guards, while remaining totally water-resistant; for the strap, it must be non-allergenic and impeccably supple. The secret lies in an exclusive formula developed by the Swiss elastomere specialist, combined with the know-how of the Audemars Piguet design engineers.

The ultimate refinement
This astonishing association, combining the majesty of gold, the luminosity of diamonds and the softness of rubber, is further enhanced with a dial in delicate shades matching the strap. In shades of light sky blue, light apricot or slightly silvered cream, engine-turned with the “Extra-grande Tapisserie” motif, it lends an ultimate touch of refinement to this Royal Oak model.
Finally, this new interpretation of the Royal Oak Offshore is endowed with a case water-resistant to 5 atmospheres and driven by selfwinding calibre 2385 with date window and small seconds display.
