(u-s:b /Breitling) BREITLING and BENTLEY MOTORS have chosen to form a unique partnership based on the values shared by both brands: performance, prestige, tradition and a determination to innovate. For BREITLING, this cooperation represents an opportunity to unveil an exclusive chronograph dedicated to the prestigious British automobile constructor. The seeds of the alliance between the two firms were sown with the BENTLEY CONTINENTAL GT, the most powerful BENTLEY ever built and symbolizing the renewal of the distinguished car manufacturer. BREITLING contributed its personal touch to this vehicle by participating in the styling of instrumentation and creating a dedicated dashboard clock.

Within this partnership, BREITLING and BENTLEY also decided to associate in the famous Le Mans 24 Hours car race, an endurance competition that draws hundreds of thousands of spectators to this small French town for a weekend each year. The Le Mans 24 Hours race holds particular significance for BENTLEY, since it enables it to renew ties with its glorious past by reviving the memory of the legendary BENTLEY BOYS, who dominated the race in the late 1920s. For BREITLING, its presence alongside TEAM BENTLEY enables it to thrive on this particularly challenging environment in order to highlight the notions of performance and precision to which it is deeply attached.

BREITLING now proudly presents the chronograph dedicated to this partnership. Officially named BENTLEY MOTORS, this wrist instrument has been the object of highly sophisticated aesthetic research. It mirrors certain design features typical of the British brand, such as the knurled finish on the bezel, inspired by the BENTLEY control buttons. Its case measures 48.7 millimeters in diameter, making it the largest of all BREITLING chronographs. However, thanks to its ingenious construction, it adapts to most wrist sizes: a hollowed recess in the case enables the new SPEED bracelet to swivel freely on its axis and thus ensure a perfect fit.

BREITLING has matched the originality of the design with the assurance of technical exclusivity. The mechanism powering the BENTLEY MOTORS is unique in the world. Called "30 seconds chronograph", it is distinguished by its center hand sweeping round the dial in half a minute, instead of the usual 60 seconds. Such an apparently astonishing configuration enables extremely precise read-off of fractions of a second, in this case 1/8ths. This particular feature is driven by the new Caliber 25 – developed in the BREITLING CHRONOMÉTRIE workshops – a 38-jewel movement, officially chronometer-certified as indeed are all BREITLING movements.

Dedicated to the automobile world, the BENTLEY chronograph is also equipped with a variable tachometer which is also a world exclusive feature. Used in conjunction with the chronograph, this device enables measurement of an average speed, whatever the time elapsed, the distance covered or the speed reached. In a similar way to a slide rule, the variable tachometer is activated by rotating the notched exterior bezel, which drives a pinion and axle acting on the interior bezel. This clever mechanical system ensures that there is no interference with water-resistance parameters.
The BENTLEY chronometer is manufactured in steel or yellow gold, as well as in a limited series of 50 in white gold. Among the four different dials available, the highly unusual bronze color is particularly striking.
