    Inhorgenta Europe 2003 – The jewellery highlights | inhorgenta

    (u-s:b /inhorgenta) Aluna, Emporio Armani and Nina Ricci – these are three of the new jewellery brands that will be premiering their collections to the trade public in Germany at Inhorgenta Europe 2003 (21 – 24 February). The following alphabetical list gives a foretaste of the new innovations in jewellery the 30,000 or so visitors from 70 countries can expect to see at the fair in Munich. The list is based on information received from the exhibitors by the editorial deadline of mid December 2002, and is not to be regarded as a full and complete listing.

    The jewellery brand Aluna will be represented at Inhorgenta Europe this year for the first time. This brand, patented in 2000 as an own brand by Hermann A. Trautz, Pforzheim, contains a high-quality 'Moon collection'. Rings, earrings and necklaces feature the inimitable Aluna moon and three white brilliants. Brand new is the pure style Aluna ring series. Lovers of the typical Aluna moon can choose between a 750/ yellow gold version and a cooler white-gold version.

    The Diamond Trading Company (DTC) will be displaying up to 30 impressive pieces of diamond jewellery in Munich. One of them is particularly spectacular, it is the breathtaking 'Satine' choker worn by actress Nicole Kidmann in Baz Luhrmann´s successful film 'Moulin Rouge'. This unique exhibit consists of 1308 hand-picked diamonds with a total weight of 134 carats. These diamonds are set around a five-carat emerald-cut diamond. This unique work of art was designed by Australian star designer Stefano Canturi; it reflects the sumptuous opulence of Paris in the late 19th century. Canturi took three months to make the necklace. The 'Satine' choker is the most valuable piece of jewellery ever made for a film.

    Ehinger-Schwarz will be shining black at Inhorgenta Europe 2003: This company from Ulm has developed a special technique for vacuum coating titanium carbon onto jewellery made of stainless steel. The result is a deep black, gleaming matt ring or pendant, that is hardly affected by day-to-day wear.

    Emporio Armani is now also making jewellery in the sophisticated Italian style. 80 pieces of jewellery with the stylised EA logo make up the collection of items premiered at Inhorgenta Europe 2003. The centrepiece is a wide base range in sterling silver, supplemented by pieces inspired by the current ethno trend, and also a small selection of gold jewellery.

    Fossil Jewelry´s necklace with pendants, in its current silver collection, takes up a traditional theme: an eye-catching cross. The unusual thing about this cross and chain is that the cross is divided into two, thus enabling a more playful treatment of the cross and helping it to a modern comeback.

    M. Frey Wille is supplementing its successful 'Contemporary Art' collection with four eye-catching jewellery sets, consisting of an armband and decorative watch. This collection, which is inspired by modern art, in particular constructivism, gave the team of artists at M.Frey Wille lots of scope for creativity.

    Jewellery manufacturers Furrer-Jacot will be presenting its 'Les Sculptures' collection of wedding rings. With a futuristic design, the Swiss company is seeking to set new accents in the field of wedding rings and once again to enthuse the trade public and consumers.

    A new pearl jewellery collection, which combines fine Tahiti and South Sea cultured pearls with yellow and white gold, is to be presented by Gellner. On show will be, for example, rings that are reminiscent of butterflies of shells, yet which still display a clean, simple line.

    Gerstner has announced a technological innovation. The yellow and white gold rings in the 'Eternity' series are not only unusual in design, they are made without joints, and without casting.

    An unusual new idea has come from the diamond cutters Philipp Hahn, Söhne. Under the motto of 'See, feel and hear diamonds', this company will be presenting their 'triple-emotions' diamonds. Using a special technique, rays of light reflected through diamonds are represented on a diagram and then turned into music using special computer software. Hahn even offers his clients a music CD to go with the larger diamonds.

    The young designers from Juni will again be showing some examples of their rather exceptional design skills: the highlights in their display will be the 'sewing ring collection', with the 'Roof terrace with sun' model and the 'Dewdrop' diamond ring.

    A unique interplay of natural-coloured diamonds, coloured precious stones, gold and platinum in jewellery comes from the house of Krieger.

    Meister GmbH will be presenting five different lifestyle directions from their new wedding ring collection. One of the rings featured by this company from Radolfzell is a new rotating ring series from the 'Meister Girello' collection, and new accessories for men.

    A glimpse of summer will be coming from Niessing. This company is to present is 'Prinz' model in 750/ yellow gold, 'coloured rings' in 750/ gold and 960/ platinum and 'High Noon' in stainless steel with synthetic coloured stones.

    Thomas Sabo will be presenting his 2003 collection, which features black, white and also turquoise and champagne-coloured stones in combination with sterling silver.

    A wide and varied selection of South Sea, Tahitian, Akoya and cultured pearls is to be on display at the stand of Schoeffel GmbH. In addition this company will be presenting unique jewel creations: selected pieces of jewellery with enthralling, natural-coloured cultured pearls. Other delights are classically elegant items of jewellery in white or yellow gold with brilliants, as well as glamorous necklaces, rings and earrings of cultured pearls, brilliants and precious stones.
