(u-s:b /BOTTA-design) Botta-Design presents the ARGOS, a new wristwatch offering superior readability and wearer comfort.
The ARGOS is proof that functionality and elegance do not have to be mutually exclusive.
On the contrary, in December 2007, the ARGOS received the GOOD DESIGN AWARD from the Chicago Athenaeum for its design and function.

Because of its size, the dial, with its uncluttered and strictly logical layout, is what first catches the eye. Unlike most wristwatches, the ARGOS has two separate levels for hours and minutes – one black, the other white. The hour and minute hands each point to their own scale: minutes are indicated by straightforward lines, while the hours are numbered. The lengths and thicknesses of the lines on the minute/second scale are chosen to ensure that the exact time can be read easily from any angle. The high degree of contrast between the hands, hour/minute levels and dial makes for optimal readability – particularly in poor light conditions or for people with impaired vision.

The automatic version is powered by the Swiss-made ETA 2824-2 movement.
The precise three-part stainless steel case features sapphire glass and a water-blue mineral glass base. Because the strap lugs are positioned underneath the case, the ARGOS appears slim and compact despite its relatively large diameter.

The quartz version features a beautifully crafted titanium case, the three elements of the case being joined by eight precision screws. Thanks to the consistent use of high-tech components and cutting-edge technology during the manufacturing process, the lowest possible height and weight have been achieved. The flat sapphire glass is highly resistant to scratches, while a gold-plated Swiss-made Ronda movement ensures a high degree of precision and reliability.

Both versions of the ARGOS will be available from February 2008:
ARGOS automatic with 42mm diameter, priced at € 690 and the
ARGOS quartz with 39mm diameter, priced from € 349 to € 398.
