(u-s:b /Omega) Nicole Kidman launches the OMEGA Limited Edition Constellation Iris Collection in Shanghai

Shanghai, 17 June 2006 - At a press conference to commemorate OMEGA's presence in the Chinese market for the last 111 years, OMEGA brand ambassador Nicole Kidman presented the new, limited edition Constellation Iris watch. OMEGA also pledged its support for UNIFEM in China by organising an exclusive charity auction.

Opening the event with a presentation on OMEGA's role in China, Kevin Rollenhagen, Vice President of OMEGA in China and Hong Kong, announced the launch of the Constellation Iris, and pointed out that the OMEGA boutique in the prestigious location of Nanjing Road was the company's biggest flagship store worldwide. OMEGA President Stephen Urquhart summarised OMEGA's historical highlights, emphasising the significance of the company's role in China. He then introduced Nicole Kidman who expressed her delight at being in China for the first time and told the audience how much she enjoyed her role as an OMEGA ambassador.

Nicole Kidman presented five Constellation Iris watches with special numbers such as 1, 8, 28, 111 and 1895. 8 is an auspicious number in China, and in this particular context means "prosper"; 1895 is the date OMEGA established itself in China, symbolically commemorated by the number of Constellation Iris watches which have been specifically produced for the occasion. Nicole Kidman signed the boxes of the five watches, three of which will be sold at the OMEGA Boutique in Nanjing Road.

The press conference was followed by a visit to the impressive and luxurious OMEGA flagship Boutique in Nanjing Road. In the evening OMEGA hosted a private dinner for a select number of guests and a glamorous party rounded off this special day - an unforgettable occasion in true OMEGA style.

To celebrate the 111 year anniversary of the company's presence in China together with Nicole Kidman's first visit, OMEGA held two charity auctions on behalf of UNIFEM, the women's agency at the United Nations committed to advancing women's rights and gender equality. As a Goodwill Ambassador for UNIFEM, Nicole Kidman presented her own watch the number 1, and the number 8 was sold at a silent auction during the party. Ten percent of the proceeds of all sales during the evening will be donated to UNIFEM. As an additional gesture of solidarity for this worthwhile cause and until 16 July 2006, the two OMEGA Shanghai boutiques will also contribute ten percent of their sales of the limited edition Constellation Iris to UNIFEM.

Nicole Kidman was chosen to become an OMEGA ambassador because of the values she shares with the company. As an Oscar-winning actress of international renown, she has established a reputation for choosing challenging and diverse roles which have brought her critical acclaim, and confirm her immense versatility as an actress. By virtue of her proactive role as patron of the arts and various philanthropic causes, Nicole Kidman also makes an invaluable contribution to increasing social awareness on a worldwide level.
