(u-s:b /Hublot) Sketching out the concept on paper, Jean-Claude Biver passionately describes his vision of the "Fusion", Hublot's new guiding principle. Hublot watches have a perfect affinity with the Sea, and Man has his own affinity with the land. Hublot has created a fusion between the sea, the land and man. Now it not only invests its energies in performance, but also in the quest for the fusion between the three.

The new Hublot range breathes new life into the brand by giving it a new dimension in keeping with Hublot's unique, timeless sense of design.

A sneak preview of the new Hublot range before Baselworld unveils the ‘SuperB’ Hublot chronograph with its oversized bezel and 12 polished and clamped enlarged screws, giving it a renewed impact. The innovative dial available in blue, black, titanium or white, with a double anti-reflection crystal enhanced by a black joint are revealing a highly contemporary design.

A screw-down crown, obviously made of natural rubber, with its two ‘UPTS’ chronograph push-pieces fitted with lockable rings, also in rubber, resolve the problem of water-resistance in chronographs once and for all. On the technical side, a transparent (translucent) crystal back leaves open to view the mechanical movement with automatic winding mechanism, enhanced by the addition of a flyback with new oscillating weight sporting the colours of the brand.

Also, the moment we’ve all been waiting for is here: the rebirth of the celebrated Hublot strap in natural rubber, which has symbolised the brand since its creation. Brand new for 2005 is the introduction of the technicolour strap revealing a rainbow of colours from navy blue, red, pink to silver and bronze, together with the launch of the ‘croc’ strap on a rubber base to preserve the timeless comfort characteristic of Hublot straps.

The SuperB chronograph is available in two versions:

- Ref: 1921 with the new tachymeter bezel, mechanical movement with automatic winding mechanism and transparent crystal back.

- Ref: 1926 with the new Hublot bezel and 12 recessed screws, mechanical movement with automatic winding mechanism and flyback and translucent crystal back.

The new Hublot continues to display the tenacity, continuity, stability and insistence on quality that provide the key to its success.

So, get down to Baselworld on 31st March for the Hublot watch presentation in Technicolor and snatch a glimpse of the brand’s latest icon.
