(u-s:b /Zenith) The Chronomaster Open is a journey. To the centre of life, to the heart of time, to the source of the movement. Revealing through its dial opening the 36,000 vibrations of the legendary El Primero chronograph calibre, this watchmaking masterpiece has met with resounding success. Having become an icon of the ZENITH Manufacture in less than a year, this collection is now being enriched with several variations in dial, size and wristband.

In addition to the existing powdered black dial, the steel version now also welcomes white or grey options. And to please connoisseurs of more classical watches, the pink gold or steel case has slimmed down from 45 mm to 40 mm in diameter. In the process, the dial has been redesigned to match its new size. Moreover, the silver version now also comes with a guilloché variation on both the large and small case. Finally, along with the black alligator leather strap or steel bracelet, the Grande Chronomaster OPEN XXT with its smooth dials also treats itself to a resolutely modern and sporty black rubber strap.

Above and beyond such aesthetically beguiling options, the collection continues to represent genuine technological feats: in order to contain the vibrations of the balance wheel suddenly released from its confinement, the design-engineers of the Manufacture have developed a new hybrid mainplate. Partially created by the human hand, and partly by digitally-controlled machinery, its integrated bridges are able to contain the fiery spirit of a balance wheel oscillating at 36,000 vibrations per hour, thanks to the principles of mechanical harmony. Moreover, representing a world exclusive accomplishment, the power-reserve indicator has also been added to an already complex central axis. Thus the watch appears to be smiling at us...
